  • Particular: how to make the layer it has been put on transparent

Whenever I put Particular on a layer it makes it black with white particles, How can I get rid of this black background? I have other backgrounds I want to use with the particles but can’t see them because Particular makes the layer I put it on black, Adjustment layer doesn’t help either it must be int he settings of particular but where can I find it?

it might sound confusing but basically I have nice ramped layer on the bottom, I had another blank layer ont op where I put particular on but then particular brings along the black BG it has which blocks out the nice orange/white layer I have underneath, also if I put particular on my orange BG layer it changes the colors to black

Yeah, particular should create an alpha for the particles on the layer it’s applied to by default. It may have been some other effect or an obscure setting that was throwing things off.
