  Particular displacement/image map

  I’m trying to have an image or full screen video break apart using particular, but having the image map to each particle in X,Y,Zspace. Is there a tutorial on this, or layer setting that I am missing in Particular? Do I combine it with displacement mapping? Is a 3d app necessary to achieve this? Seems I’ve seen this type of thing plenty times before.
