    Hi!
I’m having some problems with particular 2.0 and the “obstruction layer” function. When the particles (a light streak) goes behind the layer I’ve chosen as my obstruction layer, the edges of the layer gets jagged. (Look at the P in this picture).

I’ve tried the obvious solution to feathder/blur the edges of the layer, both on the precomped text layer and on the text itself. I can’t find any settings for this in particular. Is there a work-around?

Here’s a screenshot of my comp:

    Thanks!

    hi hannes,

that’s been a problem with particular… i was hoping that would be fixed in 2.0, but i guess not.

aharon rabinowitz has a good tutorial that demonstrates the best way overcome the obscuration issue, here’s the link:

Ok, too bad. I fixed it though by duplicating the layer with the text and made a mask around the problem area, and put that in front of the particle layer, and subtracted that mask on the original image. It worked good enough in this case.

Yeah, I’ve seen Aharons solution before, had forgotten about it though, thanks for the tip!
