August 2, 2005 at 7:52 pmI’m trying to make a layer in AE burst into flies. I have particular, but I really don’t know where to start when it comes to the actual destrution of the layer, making the bugs is cake.

August 2, 2005 at 7:58 pmWhen you select you particle emitter, change it to “Layer.” Then select the layer you want to “explode.”
NOTE: You may have to adjust the amount of particles to an insane amount to get it to look good.
I did this a few weeks ago on some text, and I had the particle count at 150,000.
Cheers!

August 2, 2005 at 8:27 pmworks AWESOME. The only problem is that i’m having leftover particles —
after it blows up, there is still that layer in the back.
i cut down the particles per second to 0, and the velocity to 0 alsomcvideo

August 3, 2005 at 1:48 pmA thought. Are you talking about the Particular plug-in from trapcode or particleillusion? Your subject posted was particle but your post comment references particular which is a trapcode plug-in. Just curious.
