    hey people,

i am emitting particles from a moving emitter,
so it looks sort of a line, consisting of dots.

maybe there is another way to create lines
out of particles, because i need increase the amount
of particles to a huge number to have nearly clean lines.

    ps:

i used also the tracer technique.
but that way it is creating a line starting from each
    particle. not chaining all together.

    thx,
    Ronny!

Set the tracer object’s tracing mode to “connect all objects”.

it gives me sort of an crazy result,
because its emitting from vertices of an object
it is connecting the first stack of points and
    then so on.

    before

    after

i was thinking to tell the tracer to just connect every 24th particle (because its emitting 24 every frame), so it is connecting the right ones in a chain. but puuhh, no idea to make such precise calls
    to the tracer ..

i guess i need to stick to small sphere again to keep the streaks.
is there maybe a little trick to keep the particles low ( maybe use stick shape )

are you using only one emitter or do you have one emitter for each ‘line’ of dots?

Since you’re connecting the particles and the tracer spline will represent the stream, you need to cut the particle count WAY down.

Are you using a standard emitter or thinking particles?

    i am using TP,

    a plane emitting particles on
its vertex points (24 particles each frame).

having an emitter for each streamline + tracer
    is possible, but quite messy.

    thx

What you want to do is emit the particles on the first frame only (24 particles total) and then trace those particles.

or trace the vertices of the plane
