    Hello,
I have a client that wants a background with moving bubbles sort of like how it is here in this website below:

    http://www.onyx.com

Can someone tell me how to accomplish this with After Effects without the use of Trapcode’s Particular. I don’t have Particle Illusion either.

    Thanks so much in advance!
    Jaime

They kinda look like circles to me, but one simple approach to making a bubble is to use the “Circle” effect on a solid and use these settings:

    Radius: 150
    Edge: Thickness
    Thickness:0.0
    Feather Outer: 0.0
    Feather Inner: 80.0

Then on the position, apply a simple wiggle:

    wiggle(1, 200)

Just duplicate away, and this should be pretty close.

Maybe use a 3D camera to get some shallow focus for the effect,.

I’d start with the CC Bubbles effect, which is one of the Cycore effects that comes with After Effects.
