OK, this should be simple for most of you.

When I add Particle Playground to my footage isn’t it supposed to go transparent except for the particle’s? How do I keep the particles but get rid of all the black that is covering my footage?

The adobe online help says that once you place it on the footage it becomes transparent, but mine stays black and you can only see the particles.

    Please instruct, thanks.

You don’t place the particle playground effect on your footage. You create a new solid ABOVE your footage, and apply the particle playground effect to the solid. Hopefully this resolves your issue.
