Particle Illusion cd error on new laptop
Particle Illusion when i put the cd in the new laptop
the set up was a snap as all ways but then when i clicked on the exe on the desk top
on the laptop it would not start. then i do the updates and all and i had all the other icons on screen for the short cutsbut i saw with in the new icon the safety shield blocking the program …. asking do you want to run this
program . i hit yes and it opens ….is there something wrong with the cd running on my old xp and being the new laptop….. do i have to remove and set up Particle Illusion againnote i did download the online version to get the program to work
cant use the cd at all i have the box cd copy ……thank you -

The CD version is very much out of date now — I suggest just installing from the download version so you have the latest.
You can get all of the emitter libraries using the “check for updates” feature.

i got everything up and running and updates too its just that the shield
blinks on my icon on the screen my safety is it ok to run the program and having to click
ok every time…no way to stop that ?the other thing is i cant see the thumbnails any more i use to see that
other then that everything is workingthank you for your help

I’m not sure about the shield thing… anybody know what that is? A Win7 security thing I think.
Also, the thumbnails in the “Load Library” dialog do not work in Windows 7. Something fundamental in the dialog class changed and broke that. Sorry.

Microsoft security essentials is keeping my laptop safe so far
on my other xp before i give it to goodwill and removed the hard drive
and fan i was useing avg for securitybut the new laptop came with Microsoft security essentials
that could be it thats the only thing that i can think of thats changes and everything on a laptop changed
vs a windows xp….over all …it is not crashing that the good thing ….thank you
for all your helpover all i am happy that i can still use Particle Illusion
from the download and up dates ……thank you
