Particle Brush without Trapcode…
Hello, I’m trying to get a photoshop-like brush effect in AE7, but when I search for tutorials, all I get is solutions that involve Particulate by trapcode. I was wondering if there are any solutions that don’t involve expensive 3rd party plugins. The TV station where I work is incredibly stingy, and won’t spend a dime unless I can itemize the purchase and prove that it will improve the bottom line… so Trapcode is sorta out of the question, unless I pay out of pocket.
Anyway, is there anyway to get Partical World or Partical Playground to do a good Brush stroke effect?

checkout andrew kramer’s tutorial on 3d stroke effect w/o a plugin.
he uses cc particle world to create a 3d stroke effect. i think you could adapt that pretty well to more of a brush effect… maybe similar to his ipod nano tutorial, which used particular.
