    Hi,

    I have a video clip which plays fine in VLC and Windows Media Player, but partially loses audio when importing into Adobe Premiere Pro (see below screen capture):

    Notice the “cliff” in the audio track partway through the clip. I’ve tried extracting the audio with Adobe Media Encoder, but the resulting audio still contains a “cliff”. Any pointers are much appreciated!

    The solution is to clean the Media Cache directory manually. E.g., the below menu item didn’t do the trick:

    Edit -> Preferences -> Media -> Clean

    Instead, I deleted all the files in the Media Cache directory from Windows Explorer:

    C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\Media Cache

    Then, reimporting forced the audio to be “reconformed”, and voila – all my audio waveforms are back!

    Issue resolved.
