    Hi,

I have a square that I am bouncing around the screen….

I wish to parent it to one thing… and then move on and swap parents…

how do I do this please?

since you can’t actually animate a parent switch, you’ll need to work with duplicates of the square layer…

to make it easier, you can use edit>split layer which will ‘split’ the layer by creating a duplicate of the layer, but end one layer at the current time and start he duplicate at the same time so the switch is seamless.

so go to the time where you want the parenting to change, select the layer and choose edit>split layer. then change the parenting for the appropriate layer…
