    I can link a nested layer from one comp to the other with expression, but how can I parent a layer from or to an a other layer which sits in another comp with expression?

    Parenting does not work across comps. If you need to re-create the behavior, you have to set up your expressions accordingly. It’s not quite clear what you are exactly trying to do and why you would need such kind of functionality, but why not parent an invisible dummy layer in your work compa and derive all values from it to feed into your sub-comp? using layer space transforms such as toWorld() it should allow you to do all you need.

    You can’t. The parent/child relationship must be within the same comp.

    If you want to attach multiple layers to one layer in a different comp, then your best bet is to create a null and use expressions to link the transform properties. Then simply Parent to that Null.
