Activity Forums Adobe After Effects Expressions Parent effect to X-Axis of Anchor Point

  • Parent effect to X-Axis of Anchor Point

I need to pickwhip an effect specifically to the X-axis of the anchorpoint of the same layer. If I try using this code,
    thisLayer.anchorPoint
then After Effects comes back with “array piece can’t expand to more than one value.”
I assume that there’s a way around this, but I don’t know how to tell it to only look for one axis.

    Thanks!

Yep, that did it, thanks! Is there a similar code to parent to the y-axis?
