paragraph text box size in essentials?
I am in the situation where I need paragraph text, but I’d like it to be accessible in essential graphics so I can create the style, then reuse it.
As far as I know, if you are within AE, the only way to edit the text is to right click and edit source text. That brings up the “Edit Value” box, which lets you edit a string of text and that’s all.
I noticed that changing the shape of the paragraph box sets a key in the source text.
So my assumption is that the paragraph text box could be driven by an expression? With it being a source text option though, I would assume to find a reference to the paragraph bounds here: https://helpx.adobe.com/after-effects/using/expressions-text-properties.html
But sadly, I do not.
Is there a way to drive a paragraph box shape? Perhaps it’s just another path entirely, like creating a shape and having a text layer wrap inside of it somehow? Someone could probably create a function to automatically put in line returns, and eliminate the spaces, based on something like adding each word in order and seeing if it will fit into a given rectangle, but that someone is not me. I’m hoping there is a solution staring me in the face and I’m just too blind to see it?
