paper cut animation
Hey there,
I hope somebody can help me, cause I have no idea how to solve my problem… I have to animate a machine which cuts a paper – the paper goes into the machine and comes out in the cutted form – the cutted paper edges are falling out as waste.
Anyone has an idea how to achieve this?

cloth or soft dynamics probably, what version of C4D do you have?

Cloth might work best but you can also use an alpha map and inverted version of the same map.
You could also be using imported vector for your workflow.– Rasmus Gerner

Hey, could you explain what you mean with cloth? I am new to C4D and don’t really understand it.. I already tried using the Thrausi Plugin, which works quite well except that I cannot control the edges where the paper should be cut. So the paper is cut randomly…

If you need to know more about cloth you can always look up a tutorial on the subject.
If you just want to cut the a simple corner then you could always just use a Boolean.Rasmus Gerner
