Pany Plama — Hell’s afoot
Okay, as I reported here last week, my 42″ Pany Pro monitor suddenly went down on Friday, Nov. 30. Panasonic acknowledged the 5-year warranty they gave me and they sent a repair company the following Monday, Dec. 3rd. to pick it up. They promised it would be back in two days. Well, it took a week… I let that one pass…
Okay, so I fired it up yesterday and it looked great… for about fifteen minutes. Then, something clicked, and it the darn thing went south again. Ugh!!!
So, first thing this morning, I called the repair company. At first they tried to tell me that my Kona card was incompatible with the monitor. Of course it was compatible for first 360 days I owned it, so that didn’t fly. Now, they are trying to tell me that they can’t come pick it up again until Friday.
I’m a bit hot under the collar at this point… I’m on the phone with Panasonic to let them know I’m running a business here. We’ll see if that gets me anywhere.

UPDATE:
After I called the Panasonic Plasma Concierge (800) 973-4390 the repair company offered a loaner and are “trying” to make the swap tomorrow. So, if you guys have issues, a loaner can be arranged if you know to ask for it.

Complete and utter B.S. Email me off list and tell me who your repair company is so I can pass along their information to my contacts at Panasonic. We have three Kona boards running here and two of them have been connected to Panny plasmas, one of two years now.

Good to hear. My VAR got a good chuckle out of the AJA Incompatibility “issue.” Definitely a new one.

BTW, the repair company is suddenly jumping through rings for me after Panasonic became involved. They just called and are now trying to get here this afternoon with a loaner.
