    3-megapixel, 1/4-inch 3MOS imager, the HMC40 produces stunning 1920×1080 video in AVCHD (MPEG-4 AVC/H.264)

Just how “stunning” do the 1/4″ chips get? We have a V1U which is great in bright light and uses 1/4″ CMOS chips but pretty dismal in poor lighting – obviously that is the price you pay for low price/small chips.

Is this Panasonic’s answer for a higher end prosumer h.264 camera at a lower price point than the HMC-150? The ads for this are all over the COW. Just wondering if anyone has used it.

AVCCAM is simply Panasonic’s proprietary word for AVCHD, correct? Kind of like Activia calls Bifidus active cultures “bifidus regularis”.
