Panning audio during edit to tape
Posted by Scott Sniffen on March 20, 2008 at 9:25 pmIs there a menthod of panning audio on the entire timeline in one stoke? Need to create a split track master tape with narration on track one and everything else (stereo music and all) on track two.
Thanks,

March 21, 2008 at 6:11 amHi Scott,
You ned to set “Dual Mono” in the “Audio Output” (System preferences). The audios that you set in any odd channel will go to Audio 1, and the sound that you set in the even channels will go to Audio 2. No panning.Mac OX 10.5.2-FC 6.02-QT 7.4.1

March 21, 2008 at 5:24 pmThere is a way to pan all a channel left or right.
– Lock all the audio channels but the one you want to pan.
– Select the full channel (T).
– Menu Modify> Audio> Pan.
Do the same with each audio channel.
However you will export a stereo pair so you will not be able to separate or manipulate each channel.Mac OX 10.5.2-FC 6.02-QT 7.4.1

March 28, 2008 at 7:10 pmI went to MAC “system pref”. No option for “Dual Mono”. I’m on a Kona 3. Is that why I’m not seeing the option? Or is it something I set within FCP?
