We’re about to put the Panasonic Plasma into our edit suite. Does anyone know if there’s any differences in performance between the consumer 42″ (th-42px75u) and “pro” version other than inputs, tuner, speakers, etc.? I couldn’t see any difference from the specs.

Nope, the displays are the same. Generaly the Pro models are cheaper because they don’t have a tuner.

Also, the Pro models have three modular input slots so you can pick and choose what you connect to those models. For instance we have one unit that has two component inputs and an HDMI input that I added later. The other unit has two component inputs and an empty slot still available.

This is really nice because you can just purchase what you need now and always add an additional input later.

And the pro models can come with BNC inputs for professional cables which is definitely preferred over standard RCA cables.

Ric one difference on the UK models you can also adjust the underscan and overscan while you cannot on the consumer models.

I noticed our 50″ 9uk was not quite showing everything edge to edge so I had to make a few adjustments.

For Post Studios the UK series works best I think. It has those few little extras/flexability that can make a difference.

Either way, you’ll be quite pleased I’m sure.
