    Hi all

I’ve had a look around but couldn’t find an answer to this, so I apologize in advance if this has been covered previously.

I’m a complete newbie in the video editing field but am looking to jump in head first. I’m looking at picking up a Panasonic HDC-SD900 to shoot with & do subsequent editing in Final Cut Express initially, and Pro further down the track.

From what I’ve read, the previous version of this camera (the 700) seems to have presented a few issues when editing in FCP, requiring conversion by a third party application before you could begin the edit.

Does anybody know if this has been rectified in the new release? Or is a third party app still required?

Thanks in advance, and apologies if this has been answered already.

It would help if you told us what format the camera shoots in?

This is a Full HD 1920 x 1080/50p camcorder, which benefits from three 2.53MP sensors, uses the AVCHD recording format
