  Panasonic GH4 bitrate

  Hey COW, if anyone knows that Panasonic is active in another forum and can point me there I would appreciate it.

  When the GH4 is set to 1080 100IBP, MediaInfo reads the bitrate as variable averaging 96mbps. When I set it to 1080 200 All-I, MediaInfo shows variable bitrate averaging around 40-50mbps. I just did a walk around the office, hoping to push the bitrate higher with motion, but MediaInfo still shows a bitrate of 40mbps.

  Not at all what I expected; I understand the low bitrate for a talking head interview, but testing one of those and a walk around the office with quick pans produced the same bitrate in 200 All-I.

  I didn’t expect these results and frankly just needed to talk to someone about them!
  Firmware 2.1, which I know is behind, but none of the firmware release notes talk about data rate in them.

  UPDATE: I shot some traffic out of the office window and that did get the bitrate up to 77.
