We have 3 Panasonic AG-HPX500P cameras in our studio. The blacks look really grainy comming from the camera. There is no gain on and plenty of light. We have tried at all different light levels with the same result. Any suggestions?

Noise can be due to detail circuit settings. Try coring at +2 in addition to lowering detail level. Various gammas have different noise levels.

    1. Where is your pedestal set at?
    2. Which gamma setting are you using?

    Hello,

    Try Black Balancing the camera.

Also you might want to write down your settings and reset the camera as well.

I black balance every time I shoot with the 500 and the HMC-150.

This was discussed on DVXUser how black balancing discharges the CCDs and results in a cleaner image.

    It has worked for me.
