    Hello,
A friend of mine just purchased Panasonic AG-HMC150 he uses high speed scan disc cards for capturing his footage. How would he go about importing the files into Imoive?

I’ve only worked with P2 cards and FCP so I figured I’d post here and see if anyone had any suggestions.

    Thanks in advance!

I imported/transcoded files into imovie once when I first got my camera, and before I had Final Cut. It seemed pretty easy, from what I remember. Plug the disk into the computer and launch imovie. But it has been a while.

Thanks. Yea that’s why I thought. He seemed to be having some issues with it, it makes it more difficult to give advice when I do not actually having the camera in-front of me. I just wanted to make sure if it was possible to directly import from the camera into imovie wasn’t sure if you had to convert the files or anything like that.

I believe imovie does transcode the files. But it probably has to be a fairly recent version of imovie to recognize the avchd. Good luck.

Do you know if he were to moved the files from the SD card to a hard drive will Imovie still recognize them?
