Panasonic AG-HMC150 how to get footage into Imovie
Hello,
A friend of mine just purchased Panasonic AG-HMC150 he uses high speed scan disc cards for capturing his footage. How would he go about importing the files into Imoive?I’ve only worked with P2 cards and FCP so I figured I’d post here and see if anyone had any suggestions.

I imported/transcoded files into imovie once when I first got my camera, and before I had Final Cut. It seemed pretty easy, from what I remember. Plug the disk into the computer and launch imovie. But it has been a while.

Thanks. Yea that’s why I thought. He seemed to be having some issues with it, it makes it more difficult to give advice when I do not actually having the camera in-front of me. I just wanted to make sure if it was possible to directly import from the camera into imovie wasn’t sure if you had to convert the files or anything like that.

I believe imovie does transcode the files. But it probably has to be a fairly recent version of imovie to recognize the avchd. Good luck.

Do you know if he were to moved the files from the SD card to a hard drive will Imovie still recognize them?
