    Hi Folks!

I am a teacher at a local college in Atlanta, Georgia and we just received a shipment of Panasonic AG-HMC80P cameras for our film students to check out. Being that this camera shoots with a tapeless format and we have had some issues teaching our students the proper way to handle footage shot with certain tapeless cameras (i.e. Canon 5D—you can’t change the file structure in the DCIM folder before you ingest it) and Final Cut Pro, I was hoping for any TIPS or GOTCHAS related to the 80P when ingesting, editing, or outputting the footage from FCP. None of our faculty have ever used this camera before and I am hoping to head off any problems before we have them. Any input would be highly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Jabbar Thomas

I wouldn’t say there are any model specific gotchas. Intelligent handling of media and archival procedures are always good to teach.
