    Hi there,
I am new to Avid and I can’t get my head arround how to apply a Pan Zoom Effect to a png file that I created in Photoshop. What I was hoping to achieve is this:
Create a slightly larger txt graphic with alpha in Photoshop 3072×2304 72dpi, then add a filler clip to the V2 in my timeline in Avid Xpress Pro. In V1 is my video footage that I want to use as my BG for the txt.
Now I apply the Pan Zoom effect onto the filler clip (drag and drop) and then open the effects editor to link it to my larger source file the png.
When I then select the BG to be video, avid doesn’t seem to recognize the alpha channel. What I am getting is a squished white box over my video footage…..What am I doing wrong?
    Cheers

Hi. Avid understands the use of Alpha in the opposite of how other applications use it. Go to import settings and choose “invert existing”. HTH
