i have a project where i do a 360 degree pan i a room, where on 8 points in the room (corners and in the middle of the sidewalls) the same person appears. i should have done the pan on a motorized rotating platform, because now, when i try to merge the segments together i realize that i moved the camera not in uniform speed.
i already tried to TimeRemap the segements but the results did not yield a flawless, smooth movement.
i have the feeling that using a tracker could help me here, but i have no idea how to apply this on movement in time instead of movement in space (x/y coordinates)

    some ideas?
    thanks, michael

if i understand correctly, you want to make a loop once you get back around to the 360 point?

    who is that masked man…

    I’ve got a crazy idea:

Use frame interpolation and a time stretch factor of 200%. Export that comp as still image sequences. Now you have twice as many frames as before, granted some of the frames AE created.

Then, bring those in back into AE and “build” your footage, one frame at a time.

That’s sort of the general idea without the specifics.

Could you create a room out of 3D layers, roughly the same apparant size as your real comp, then rotate that room around the camera. From that you’ve now got a perfect rotation reference.

If you time remap your footage to match the reference, you might just be able to create that smooth move you’re looking for. I’ve never tried this and it’s off the top of my head, so good luck.
