    Hi all,

This is my first project editing in Premiere, I’ve been editing in Vegas for the last 10 years. I just finish a crash course about Premiere and I am good to go. There is only one thing that I still don’t know how to do and it wasn’t covered in the course I took.

Take a look at the attached picture, here’s what I did:

-The final output for this project will be in 2:39:1 aspect ratio, so I set it to 1920×804
-In order to fit the image I opened the Pan/Crop window, right click on the image and selected “Match output aspect”

I’ve already gone thought this hoop so that the image in the window is already resized. The selected area show the portion of the image that will be shown. What’s nice about it is that it offers me a selected area that allows me to reframe and even keyframe.

Now I know how to match aspect ratio in Premiere but can’t find a similar feature that allows me to also reframe.

    Any pointers would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Hi Tero,

Thanks for the article. I am a bit puzzled, if i set the sequence settings to 1920×804 and then right click on the video and scale to frame, Premiere will include black bars on each side of the video.

Now if I undo that, then the video will be properly scaled.

    Am i missing something here?

    Thanks

Easiest way is to make the sequence 1920×1080 and use a mask for positioning the clips.
You can make the mask in the Titler.
    Then export to 1920×804.
