So I never got around to finding out why one of my videos that I rendered that I used the pan and zoom effect in turned out choppy/jerky. I’ve done some research, but all other people get is are you sure it isn’t your PC not being able to view it smoothly. Well I’m sure mine cane because I’ve uploaded the video to YouTube and still the problem occurs. If you guys don’t mind checking out the video, at least the first few moments and see what I’m talking about and then come back and reply what might cause it that would be awesome. I’m planning on making more videos like it in the future, but I don’t want the same problem to occur.

I don’t see any jerkiness at all. The pans are smooth when I watch it.

That right there doesn’t help me at all. Just you saying what you see doesn’t help me. The zooming in and out part is like it’s not been encoded at the normal frame rate that I rendered it at, which is 30 FPS. It just looks choppy. It’s a small notice, but to me I notice it because it’s something I produced and want to fix.

I downloaded your file and have to agree that it is definitely “not smooth”. There appears to be some type of “shimmering” effect which is a bit disconcerting. The first part should be very smooth movement, but if you bring it into Vegas and look at it frame by frame, you will see that the movement presents a very odd pattern. E.g. movement left, then up, then down, then left. Sadly, I’m not the one to diagnose exactly what’s going on from just seeing the clip, but in any case, you will need to provide more info in terms of your source footage, frame rate, etc. and also your render settings.

OK, so tell us more about what you are doing:

What is the frame rate of your source video?

What is the frame rate of your project?

What is the frame rate of your render template?

Have you disabled resample on the events?

There is definitely jerkiness in the slower pans and zooms. It’s not so evident in the fast zooms and pans. Have you tried rendering out with a different codec and settings?

    What are your render settings?
