    Oh Great Ones:

Got a multicam project from Russia on PAL Betacam SP with synced time code. In the house here I have NTSC Betacam SP and my handy DSR11. I also have access to a good dub house that does conversions nicely.
    here’s teh quiz FCP masters:
what’s the best work flow here, considering I need to sync for multicam. I have 2 switched feeds, and at least 2 iso’d cameras..
Should I just go ahead and load it into the computer using PAL (after I dub it to PAL DVCam or rent a PAL beta deck)? and then when I cut a master, hardware convert the DVCam master to Beta? This would preserve time code, but make it more difficult for client to see rough cuts. (They are out of town here in the US and need approval views.)

Is there a way to dub from PAL to Beta SP and preserve time code? surely this goes away with the frame rate conversion?

My neighborhood dub house was even a bit stumped trying to figure a way to mirror the code.

cursory research shows that FCP will not make a very good conversion if I were to even try and change formats within the app.

any suggestions on workflow would be appreciated.

    bubba
