PAL to NTSC

I have a set of PAL AVI shows that I want to play on a NTSC DVD. What is the best way to do this? iDVD, FCP or After Effect?
I am no DVD authoring expert by any means. I don’t need menus or anything fancy.

There are tons of way to do this an impossible to explain in an internet thread. I use a line command tool call AVIsynth for all conversion. iDVD wont help. Here are links to Compressor and After Effects workflows – Lots of reading to do!
