    Hi all —

I need to confirm my workflow of a NTSC video converted into a PAL MXF File (IMX-50 D-10, Op1a, BES Audio) for broadcast in Australia.

    1. I captured the video into a ProRes 4:2:2 NTSC file (720×486).

    2. I converted the video (in Compressor) to PAL ProRes 4:2:2, 720×576, Upper Field Dominance, 25fps.

    3. I then used Episode Pro to convert the PAL ProRes 4:2:2 file into a MXF file (IMX-50 D-10, Op1a, BES Audio).

Does this sound right? I originally used this work flow, but kept the lower field dominance and it was rejected by the network in Australia due to field reversal. I did not realize that they required Upper Field Dominance.

    I appreciate any input.

    Thanks!

Well — I didn’t receive a response – LOL — but this workflow is correct. Episode Pro creates perfect MXF files on a Mac.

I’m a heavy Episode user but hadn’t tried your specific workflow.
There is a COW Episode forum so posting there might have received a response from someone who had done this.

Of course some COW hand would bite your head off for double posting but not I.

BTW thanks for posting back because even a self confirmation will be helpful to others who are working through this workflow.

Ahh – I didn’t see the specific forum for Episode Pro. Good to know 🙂

Thanks for your response as well…
