PAL footage using Sony HDV deck won’t show in capture window
Hi,
I’m in a bind…film due for a festival tomorrow, lost a bunch of footage and trying to reimport. I am using FCP 5.0 and a , mostly NTSC footage (I live in Canada) but I have some PAL footage shot by a guy in London. I’ve never had to import PAL before, and it’s not showing up in the Log and Capture window.
Any ideas? I have tried virtually every setting, Easy Setup, DVCPRO etc, in capture presets, device control presets etc. I am at my wit’s end!

Assuming the deck supports it, you’ll need to switch the System settings to 50 Hz before you can properly playback/capture a PAL source from it …

Thanks for the advice, turns out that even though the deck automatically detects PAL or NTSC, I still had to change a tiny switch on the back. I’m new to this stuff!
