February 19, 2008 at 11:28 pmI would use DVCPRO-PAL. DVCAM is really just the same as DVCPRO.
DVCPRO50 would actually be the best quality. It’s 4:2:2 instead of 4:1:1 like DVCPRO (also known as DVCPRO25).

February 20, 2008 at 1:05 am[Ernie Santella] “… shoot with the camera set at 1080/50i, digitize into FCP at 1080/50i then drag it into a PAL DV timeline and resize?”
Why ask us?
I would think the best person to ask is your client.
No point sending SD DV footage to someone who can use or would prefer a HD format.
So, check with the end user, would be my course of action.Neil.

February 24, 2008 at 6:47 pmSo, just to follow-up on the process of my shooting here and sending to the UK files of my shots.
I shot at 16:9 1080/50i on the HDX900. Digitized in at DVCPRoHD. Edited down the clips in FCP in HD. Then, exported selects at PAL DV Anamorphic. Worked great. All are happy. Whew!
