    Help me Cow!

I’m in the US doing a project for someone in the UK and was wondering what the specs were for PAL DVDs. The client wants the final video to be widescreen. What’s the resolution, pixel aspect ratio, etc? What is the square pixel equivalent (i.e. 720×540 square = 720×480 rectangular)?

    Thanks a bunch!

Anamorphic at 720×576 pixels (non-square), which translates to 768×576 square pixels.

Thanks, Bill! So, if I work at 768×432, square, I’ll be able to easily translate it to anamorphic PAL widescreen?

Thank you so much for your patience!

No. You need to start at 1024×576 square pixels and resize down to 720×576.
