I’ve got footage in this format shot on a JVC GR-PD1 and can’t capture it on Final Cut 6.1. I’ve tried most all the possible device control and capture input settings in the log and capture window and still can’t get it to recognise it. I’m using the camera the footage was shot on to capture the material.

All the information I can find about this camera is two to four years old. This is an HDV camera, right? What’s P50 mean? Is it just just field doubling or shooting 50fps? I didn’t think that was in the HDV spec, so I suspect it’s really just shooting 25fps without duplicate fields.

    All the best,

    Tom

Try using the FCP easy setup and select HD / 50fps. Should give you the option for a 720p50. Relaunch the log and capture and make sure that your device control is set properly. Should be a go.
