August 9, 2007 at 7:16 pmMy point exactly. I had just updated everything when I saw the original post. I was so excited to see this finally available for Mac but alas it was only available for a few moments. Hopefully, Panasonic will get cracking and get it fixed…FAST!

August 9, 2007 at 7:27 pmWell, given their record of how long it took them to get a P2 Reader for the Mac (OVER two years..more!) I don’t know how fast they will get “crackin’.” The P2 division of Panasonic failed to see how big of a market this format would be on the Mac, so they didn’t even have plans to design this in the first place. Now to update that for QT 7.2 (which is STILL buggy and I REFUSE to load it) might take them a month…or two.

August 9, 2007 at 8:20 pmCould it be that Panasonic and Apple are direct competators, they both build laptops?
Could it be that Panasonic is pissed at Apple for going to bed with Red?
All conjecture on my part.
Pretty happy with recent items such as the dual adaptor and 16G cards. -

August 9, 2007 at 10:59 pmYou need to be running the latest version of OS X and QT. And yes MXF is audio or video and needs to be merged manually in FCP. Thus this is a bit more complex than log and transfer.

August 10, 2007 at 8:07 ami have 10.4.9 and quicktime 7.6.1, because later versions are buggy.
P2CMS is running, but the drag and drop function doesnt work.
do you think it has something to do with 10.4.10 ?
best regards

August 10, 2007 at 1:08 pmI am on 10.4.10 and 7.1.6 and it works for me. FCP 5.1.4. I don’t think it’s really all that great though, hand syncing clips is not for me. I do get a warning saying this file is not optimized for FInal Cut Pro, though, when I import it.
Does anyone else find this software weird? great for backup purposes, but the ingest feature creates a ton of more files on your machine and logging is really slow.
Glad it’s free though.
