P2 workflow scenario
While I’ve been following the P2 discussion for a while now, I was just wondering what people are doing for project workflow.
For discussion purposes I’ll construct a scenario of shooting a low-budget drama project – say an indie movie – with a P2 camera.
So you shoot HD on the P2 card and have the media all dumped over to hard drives, what is the process of getting dailies out to various executives/producers/crew etc. Nowadays everyone wants a DVD with chapter markers for scenes/takes. Is this more automated now?
Also if you are ‘off-lining’ your show in standard def DV codec how do you make tapes for the assistant editor to log and database, and organise for the editors.
Also if you are shooting double system sound, how do you link clips for the off-line edit and database original DAT tapes for creating edl for post audio work.
I have may more questions but just thought I’d start there.

this is easy with p2, more easier, than shooting on tape.
