P2 won’t import into Final Cut, but does import into Avid
I have successfully imported P2 media into both Final Cut and Avid Xpress Pro many times now and have the workflow down really good.
One of the six “drives” from my P2 store will not import into Final Cut. In the P2 import window I click the plus sign and point to the folder that contains the Contents folder and and Last Clip file. However, Final Cut does NOTHING. No error message, no nothing. It doesn’t even update the directory to show that I selected the folder, much less recognize any clips. It is crashing the application about half the time. So obviously something is buggy because, again, I fully understand the workflow and have successfully imported many times before including successful import of the 5 other “drives” that were on this particular P2 store “batch”. As a test, I imported the problem folder into Avid and it worked like a charm, so I think its a FCP issue, not a bad media issue. I should note that I only tested a few files on the Avid and did not bring in the entire folder. Is it possible that there is a problem file? Even if so, it’s not just that it won’t import, it won’t even recognize the folder. HELP!!!! Any ideas!?
Thanks!
