First shoot today with HVX-200 with Firestore and 3 8GB cards. I was downloading cards to an external hard drive through Acer laptop and wanted to view with P2 Viewer, but Viewer was only recognizing the cards in the PCMCIA slot. It would not recognize the hard drive. Just wondering what I missed in setup, if anything. The laptop played the cards back great, no problems with the cards, just the hard drive, LaCie Porsche 320 GB, USB 2.0. Any thoughts?

You have to tell P2 Viewer to establish its secondary bin to view Virtual P2 Cards, and then go to the tool menu to “setting virtual cards” and then navigate to the directory that you stored your footage and specify each directory as a new card.

There’s a manual for P2 Viewer, it gets installed in the directory where you installed P2 Viewer. It explains this, although not necessarily all that clearly!

Thanks, this project came in real quick and didn’t have the chance to check out the manual, especially during the shoot. I will read it now.
