P2 viewer alternatives?
I haven’t been able to get the Panasonic P2 viewer to load/show me any of the clips I copied from cards to my HDD. I copied the entire folders via Windows Explorer from the cards to new individual directories on my laptop’s external drives. The viewer was able to show me the clips from the card, but when I specified these new HDD directories as “virtual P2 drives”, the viewer found no clips. I copied everything off the cards (CONTENTS folder as well as lastclip.txt.)
I uninstalled, reinstalled, pointed to different folders (the clips import fine into various Avid systems), and at this point am just wondering if there are any other options for P2 mxf file viewing? I’m most interested in viewing, since I’m not cutting off my laptop this go round.
I’m giving Raylight a shot right now – but are there any direct viewing options (raylight seems to be making .avi proxies essentially)?
