I have Panasonic’s P2 store drive and an external FW 800 Raid 1 drive that I’m using to archive all my P2 footage on.

When I’m in FCP and I use the “Log and Transfer” feature to view and copy clips to the scratch disk *from* the P2 drive, the clips all show up nice and neat and are viewable in the preview window. However, when I’ve copied those exact same clips (contents folder and lastclip.txt) to my Raid archiving drive, and I try to log and transfer, the clips show up perfectly, but FCP won’t let me see video previews, telling me “preview unsupported for this format”.

The files are the exact same ones I just saw with no problem from the P2 drive — merely now on another drive — any explanation as to why I’d see this?

    Thanks!
