P2 Span handling
When I responded to the last post I thought I could make a post about a little P2 helper tool I created.
This tool originally was created for Jeremy Garchow and it’s still quite a kind of a hack.
Sometimes it may happen that the ‘span info’ of clips is lost. But there are ways to reconstruct them.
You must have either use ‘User Clip Name’ or TOD/free run TC.This version of the tool relies on ‘User Clip Name’.
You must import all continuous cards which have lost their ‘span info’ in one step. The little app will sort all P2 XML info by both time and name. So all ‘User Clip Names’ will be displayed in a sorted order.
Then you can start the ‘span process’ and the app will add all the span info needed to the original files.BUT BE CAREFUL – THIS IS NOT A TOY. DON’T USE INTACT CARDS. MAKE A COPY OF THE ORIGINAL XMLs IN ANY CASE BEFORE YOU PROCESS THEM.
If you got the problem with lost ‘span info’ and have added a user clip name on the set the app probably will help.
