1.) The manual states not to use 80-minute mini dv tapes with the HVX. Just curious, why not?

2.) What size SD card should I get to use with the HVX — what would you recommend? Does it make a difference if the card used is a standard SD card or a high speed one?

3.) When recording to a P2 card in either DV or HD mode, are there any issues with rewinding footage and playing it back like there is with using Mini DV tapes, such as, breaking the timecode?

    Thanks.

    1. Thinner tape (as is necessary to cram more tape into the same-size cassette) is more susceptible to crinkling or breaking.

    2. 64MB is about all you’ll ever need.

    3. No timecode breaks or anything will ever happen with P2. Every new recording starts at exactly where the last one left off.
