P2 & Partial Clips
Hi-
New to P2 and been doing some testing and shooting. Poked around here for an answer but really didn’t get clarity. I know that you will get a partial clip if a take spans two cards. On a two card ingest, however, we got three partial clips. I saw that someone said it was because of the FAT recording format that limits clips to 4 GB (which I’ve heard of but never in reference to P2). However, we have many clips that are way over 4GB (like 15 GB) and they recorded fine. Are there any other reasons except for card end that would result in a partial clip?
Am I missing something (probably so!)?

You have individual clips that are on the P2 card in the MXF format that are over 4GB? Were these shot with Firestore?

And you look at the individual VIDEO MXF files and they are over 4GB?

After you log and transfer and join spanned clips, the QT will be over 4GBs, but the actual MXF video file itself will not be over 4GBs.
