    me again,

I’ve got 3 90 min clips shot on HVX at 720P 24fps recorded to Firestore and P2, and I’ve imported them into FCP telling FCP to remove the pulldown.

on 2 of the clips, the pulldown comes off just fine and my clips show up as 24P…. but one clip is refusing to drop it’s pulldown and is showing up as 59.94.

This is for a multi angle shoot, and FCP is not dealing with the 1 clip at a different frame rate. I’m gonna try and render the clip down to 24fps, but my guess is that won’t look the same as if I just dumped the proper extra frames.

my question is: Is it possible to change the metadata in the P2 files associated with my clip to force FCP to see the files as 24PN?

    thx!

did you shoot with P2 and Firestore on the same cameras because the do 24P Native differently.

The camera is set to 24pN for p2 only, while the FS100 (v4) needs the camera set to 24p and the the FS100 is set to PN and removes the pull down as it records but the P2 cards we be recorded with the pull down. If the FS100 is set to PN the remove duplicate frames should be unchecked.

But I may not be understanding your workflow.

I’ve got a call out to the shooter to find out exactly what the settings on camera and firestore were for that particular camera.

In General, is there a way to force the removal of pulldown? What software apps will do this? I’m looking at Raylight, but I’m not sure if it does this or not.

    thx!

Yes Raylight/Mac will remove pulldown, and you have manual control over that.
For 60P material, you specify whether to remove pulldown or not, and by telling Raylight what
your target frame rate is (29.97 or 23.976 for example) it removes either 2:2
or 3:2 pulldown as appropriate. The pulldown info in the XML file is ignored.
