    Hi :
    I’m working now on Panasonic HPX -2100 with Avid MC 3
    but I don’t know how to search inside the meta data of the P2 files
    I hope somebody has solution to search coz the file name is so bad can not show me what the file contains
    thank you in advanced

    Hi,

    Did you upload any metadata that would have given the files a name other than the camera’s naming convention? If not, you are somewhat stuck in trying to figure out how to use the files. If you had uploaded the metadata files you could have virtually any name you found to be useful. You could consider looking for things by time of day, if of course the camera’s clock had been set properly. Or you could look by time code.

    Anyhow for a good overview of how to use and set metadata there is a paper on the Panasonic site http://www.panasonic.com/p2hd under the resources tab. Take a read and then next time you use the camera take a few minutes and do a little metadata upload. If you don’t want to go through that much trouble, you can at least do the user clip name in the camera and even that would help.
