Will Final Cut recapture P2 media from a duplicate p@ data folder?

    Here is the workflow.
After the shoot is finished the raw P2 data is backed up onto 2 separate G-Raid drives. One drive goes back to the studio and the other drive goes to the producers edit suite. The producer logs and captures the footage from his copy of the raw P2 data. He will do a pretty good rough cut.
At this point can he send his working FCP project file to the studio and can the clips be recaptured from the duplicate raw P2 data folder? I’m hoping this will create a duplicate set of Quicktime movie files.

    Thanks in advance …

    Yes.

As long as the folders have the exact same name, just hit BATCH CAPTURE and it will import the footage.

    Slick.

Even better would be to Raylight all the files on each drive first…..

Just keep the file structure the same.

I do this all the time….

    No capturing needed.

The only thing you won’t have is any rendered files.
