I have some P2 media in a project and everytime I close Media Composer the media goes offline. When I start up my project, I have to reload the P2 media everytime. Is this a common problem or is there something I’m doing wrong. I have the media stored on a local drive within a folder. Does it actually need to be in a media folder or something like that?

An immediate fix to your situation might be to delete the database files and let Avid “find” them again.

To insure that you are going about it the way Avid intended, make sure your workflow is like this:

    Hi,

I had this problem with P2 media earlier in the year and didn’t find too much help from AVID. (sorry Joe i haven’t read your link yet, so i may well be wrong)

Anyway we got round it by consolidating the clips onto another media drive, and after every boot the media was online. I think the problem you are experiencing is because AVID sees the P2 card/media as a virtual drive and the link is lost once the CPU reboots.
