P2 media and 4 audio tracks
I have clips shot with an HPX500. The audio was recorded on all four channels and mixed independently in the camera. What I’m having trouble with is when I’ve imported my clips to my Media Composer, tracks A1 and A3 are the same and tracks A2 and A4 are the same. I changed it to direct output so each channel meters independently in the audio tool window but the tracks are still the same as mentioned above. And the other problem I have is I can’t pan the individual tracks left or right. How do I use P2 media with 4 audio tracks?

What version of Avid are you on? Are you checking in AMA or with Import-P2?
Either way, if you are seeing 4 channels coming in, than those are likely the channels recorded. Maybe the _think_ they shot 4 channels, but were actually doubling a1 to a3 and a2 to a4 in the camcorder.
