P2 Material Final Cut does not import all files
First of all, I am not a native english speaker so I hope I don’t have too many mistakes…
I have p2 mxf files as a source material. I have ALL the files (Contents, Lastclip, 6 folders inside) copied from the P2 card.
But when I log and transfer into final cut (exactly like in the tutorial) it won’t open all the files but leave out some. Apparently the missing clips are always somewhere between clip 1 and 20.Any Ideas?

FCP will connect clips that are “spanned.” Meaning the camera breaks up the shots into 4GB chunks. If you do long takes, one take might be 2 or more MXF files. FCP will join those MXF files and make one clip. SO you might have 20 files, but really only like 8 shots…it’s broken up.
Is that the case, or is there footage missing…really?

I’m kinda embarrassed that I didn’t see that…
Works perfectly, all the footage is there and actually I really appreciate that final cut merges the files together. I didn’t like the idea anyway that they are broken up (I found that out before).So thank you so much for being such a big help!
